Our Pre-k classroom consists of twenty very mature 4 year olds that work very well together. In three short weeks they have built a unity of friendships, a circle of happy young people who are kind, helpful, and friendly to each other. They love working cooperatively in groups, wherever they choose, and they are so pleased and proud of the outcome of their hard work when they have completed a project or activity together. They are now part of a cultural group, a group they love to join each day, a group they call "friends." Our classroom is arranged in six centers which are art, home-living, community, blocks, reading, science, and social studies all of which are integrated in some way so our learners can feel a sense of community. Our learners are well adjusted to our schedule which is consistent on a daily basis.
