By having quality speech and language materials i.e. Lakeshore reading comprehension games/tools, phonemic awareness activities and listening tools, my deaf and hard of hearing children will have more exposure to language and literacy. The reading comprehension games set is a fantastic visual way to focus on grammar, vocabulary, morphology, syntax and building quality sentence structures. These tools will increase students vocabulary repertoire, grammar, understanding and expression of words and emotions, via written, American Sign and spoken language skills and increase communication skills in every aspect of their lives and every situation. The word games i.e. apples to apple, figurative language in a jarwill be a fun way to capture their attention, incorporate new vocabulary words, language and social skills with their peers and reduce communication breakdowns. It will also increase generalization of new words they learn in the classroom to their daily lives.
