Ukuleles are a fun and easy instrument to pick up and learn fundamental harmonic support in making music and teach hand-eye coordination with finger placement and strumming.
Learning musical instruments, especially at a young age, activates several areas of the brain thus creating new connections and increasing cognitive functioning. This is a skill that can not only make someone happy but also benefit someone for the rest of his/her life! Many of my students are from low-income households and often don't have the resources to own quality musical instruments at a young age. With support from Ðǿմ«Ã½ and musical instruction, students will be taught not only about how to play their ukuleles, but also about how to responsibly care for instruments so they may retain their quality for a very long time.
