Hispanic art can be used to teach language and culture to all levels of Spanish students. This semester our cultural focus is Mexico and the celebration of DÃa de los Muertos. The materials will be used to create their own calaveras. Students in middle school will use the colorful permanent markers to decorate their own sugar skulls. Their designs are based on what they learned about the true meaning of calaveras. Students in elementary schools will design their own foam skulls with stickers. Each student will have an opportunity to experience a traditional cultural experience about el DÃa de los Muertos.
