The use of iPads is a daily activity in my classroom, for all subjects. As a 1:1 classroom, students use technology as part of their academic education. The iPad pencils will allow students to complete assignments with better accuracy of their handwriting and provide a way for students to complete assignments more quickly. What becomes a problem is the fact that students use their fingers to write with and often make mistakes or can't form letters correctly and then takes extra time to erase and redo their work. Also, when students are asked to write on their iPads, they often revert to using the keyboard instead. Using the keyboard allows students to directly speak into the iPad without ever having to actually write anything which in turn, doesn't give students the necessary skills for spelling and handwriting. By having iPad pencils available, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning!
