I've selected a collection of books, fiction and no-fiction literature, to enhance my scholars' classroom library.
It's time to put high-interest, diverse, content-rich literature into the hands of scholars that do not have such materials. Books were chosen for their topics (lot's of high-interest), diverse authors (my students need books written by people who look like them), and award winning chapter books.
Students need to feel that they have choices when it's reading workshop time, and a classroom library that looks more like a book store and less like a ragged used collection of books, will not only create interest in my students but may even change the way they look at reading . . .
