At Placer Academy, our classrooms are small! The lack of space presents a myriad of issues that make it more challenging to get through our days. Two years ago, I made the decision to eliminate some of the furniture in my classroom, freeing up space and making it easier to move around the room without tripping over each other. I opted for "flexible seating," a current trend in education that allows students to choose where and how they work. The results have been marked: better student behavior, a more organized space, and a more relaxed atmosphere. I love the way flexible seating has changed my classroom!
I am humbly asking for donations to update our seating options. Most of our ball chairs have popped, some of our stools are breaking, the cheap lap desks I purchased have broken, and my students were not successful with the scoop chairs I originally offered.
It's time to try something new! This time I'm focusing on quality over quantity. Some students prefer to sit on the floor, some students opt to stand, and others benefit from seating that will MOVE with them - like wobble stools. The items I am requesting will be used throughout the day and by all of my students, and they will help them be more successful students. We appreciate your help!
