My students are a wonderful group of boys and girls who really love learning. Our school is a small neighborhood school. We are neither rich nor poor. We have a very active PTA but they cannot generate the kind of monetary support the more affluent schools can. On the other hand, we are not Title 1 or under performing so we don't get any extra monetary support that way. My students are almost one half English Language Learners and I have a handful on free and reduced lunch. Despite the setbacks that many of these boys and girls have, they show up everyday, prepared to learn. They are eager and would appreciate any opportunities they are given to enhance their educational experience.
