Students need to have the ability to move freely. Flexible seating does just that! Students will be able to move bounce, lean, rock, and wobble. This has been a very challenging year and my students have been handling it like complete rockstars. Giving my students the opportunity to have flexible seating will enhance engagement and help students of all learning styles. Students learn best when they have control over their environment, when they have movement, and when they are comfortable. Flexible seating allows students to have all of this. With flexible seating students are able to pick a seat they work best in, they are able to move, and they are able to find comfort in their learning area. Unfortunately because of Covid all students have to stay at their tables with dividers up during instruction. This is making the learning process more challenging than it has been in the past. I am trying to find ways in which I can help my students learn best. I feel that lowering tables and then using some floor chairs will help them in being successful and seeing over the dividers, therefor, increasing engagement.
