School can be an overstimulating place, the noise level, the bright lights, and the distractions. Kids with sensory processing issues have trouble handling all that information, their senses are taking in things like sound, touch, taste, sight, and smell. This sensory overload can make it hard for children to succeed at school. Many students spend much of their day filtering through all of this sensory input. By the time the school day is over students with sensory needs are overwhelmed and exhausted.
I want to create a room at my school where students with sensory needs can come to take a break from all of the outside distractions. I am asking for a Calming Autism Sensory LED Light Projector, a SensoryMoon Bubble Tube Floor Lamp, and a Dynamic Movement Sensory Sox to create a clam atmosphere in our class. I am also asking for four Balance Balls and a Bean Bag Sofa for flexible seating. The trampoline and play tent will help students discharge their energy. When students have their sensory needs met they are able to focus and learn.
