I teach ELD 1 and AP Literature, what are sort of the bookends of the ELA spectrum at Tennyson High School. On one end - the ELD 1 students - are made up of newcomers and recent immigrants. Hard-working, highly motivated, the ELD 1 students are learning English at an astonishing clip. On the other end, are AP seniors, all of them college-bound and highly accomplished. Both of these classes are inspiring as they show what can be accomplished in a short amount of time.
