I am requesting a set of individual classroom headphones so that my students can use their iPads and computer devices without outside noise and environmental distractions. These headphones will allow my students to work on their own individualized learning while staying focused without excess noise.
I am also requesting a classroom subscription to Time for Kids so that my students can read, analyze, and discuss grade-level nonfiction news sources to stay connected to the world around them. In a digitized and screen-consumed world, I feel it is important for my students to read about current events in print form. Through this medium, they will understand current events, engage in dialogue and discussion with one another about issues that are relevant, and be more informed and active citizens.
