A calculator is a vital tool for any mathematician. With appropriate use, students will be able to work with irrational numbers, create statistical models, and find surface area. These tools are only as smart as their operators and I will teach my students when it is appropriate to use a calculator. Knowing how to use calculators will be a skill my students need to succeed in high school, so it will be important to start introducing this skill now. These calculators will also help meet the needs of the diverse learners I have in the classroom. These calculators would be used to support the computational skills of my diverse learners.
