It has been proven countless times that humans learn the most through experience. My school and district cannot always provide funding for class trips; therefore sometimes "experience" is off the table. Moreover, it is sometimes impossible to "experience" a subject such as history. This is where these virtual-reality goggles can fill in the gaps.
My classes could take trips to the Great Wall of China, the battlefield at Gettysburg and the Sahara Desert, from their classroom.
To do so, we need the cardboard viewers that we can insert cell phones/ tablets into. From here we can build our viewing devices and be on our way across the world!
