The new classroom rug will be great for the students to sit on during storytime, and it will give them some extra space to spread out without feeling like they are not part of the "learning rug." With the alphabet on the rug, I can think of a few learning games using the letters and pictures on the rug.
My students love to learn and love standing on "their" spot on the rug. Having their own spot on the rug gives them a sense of ownership. They take pride in taking care of their spot. I hope if we get this rug our current rug can be moved to the area where we use to eat the snack and we can go back to eating the snack out of the classroom.
