The books I have chosen are all part of a different book series. Once a student finds a book they like, they look for more of the same. Keeping students interested in reading and looking for more books is key.
If I can get students into a series of books they enjoy, they have many more opportunities to read books they love. These books are also age and reading level appropriate for the students I teach in 3rd-5th grade. They are engaging and keep kids interested in what they are reading. These books will provide a much needed starting point for their reading growth.
With these books I hope to foster a love of reading and help to develop life long readers who read not because they have to, but because they like to.
