I want to facilitate a book club, called the "Breakfast Club". I want to create a book club with ten students. I anticipate meeting with them twice a week. We will read books they "see themselves" in. Books about issues they can relate to. I want to hold the book club in the morning because many of my students come to school with "extra baggage". They are faced with challenges on a daily basis. I want to help set a positive tone early in the morning, so they can have a successful school day. The first set of books will help start "The Breakfast Club". The iPad will help a student who loves to read, but benefits from audio books. I am willing to purchase audio books myself, in addition to providing them with breakfast treats for our meetings.
