I work in a high minority and high poverty area. 80% are Hispanic and 98% qualify for free/reduced lunch. The students walk to and from school with big brother/sister. The majority of my students speak Spanish at home and several of them came to me speak absolutely NO English. It is amazing to see the growth a single year can give but I always feel I should be doing more. I would love to give my students every opportunity to succeed and I appreciate every bit of support given to me, my classroom, and my students.
