Our students deserve a comfortable spot to work and learn. We currently have placed two carpets together for the students to sit during circle time and story time. The squares are too small for the students to have enough space and they are frequently getting in each other's way. By having the two carpets, instead of one large one, students feel disconnected from each other. Our hope is that by uniting all the students in one space, where they have their own square to sit, they will be more empowered to learn.
We are also working on implementing flexible seating in the classroom and a larger carpet will allow more students to work around the room safely and comfortably. More students who wish to would be able to lay on the carpet and not the cold floor. We want what is best for all of our students, so they can meet with success! Prekindergarten is the foundation of their education.
