Beginning readers can get frustrated easily if a book is too hard. These leveled reading books will help me appropriately support new readers with a text that helps them gain confidence in their reading ability. My students have a wide variety of interests. These books will allow for each student to find a book that they are interested in for independent reading time.
The dramatic play costumes will allow them to use their imagination and dream big for their future. They can pretend to be a doctor, nurse, firefighter, or airline pilot. My students are so creative. These costumes give them a way to use their imagination. Often this time of play will show up later in their writing. They will write a story about how they were a firefighter who rescued children from a burning building or they were a airline pilot who flew around the world.
