Many of the items on my list will be used to provide take-home binders for my students. These binders are a way for the students and parents to stay organized. The composition notebooks will be used as parent/teacher communication books, as well as writing journals for my students. Poly folders are used to separate papers to keep at home, homework, writing journals, and weekly reading books. I use the page protectors for the student's homework calendars, as well as sight word lists.
I built my students' current take-home binders from the supplies I have acquired. Though they are functional, they were all previously used and not in the best of shape. The new supplies would allow me to discard the binders that are past mending.
The remaining items (construction paper, borders, flashcards) are supplies that we use daily/weekly in our classroom. Our school does not have a resource room, and our classroom supplies are running very low. My students create weekly crafts and books, which consume quite a bit of construction paper. These supplies will allow me to continue these activities.
