Dress up is an important activity that offers preschoolers a chance to use their imaginations, gain vocabulary skills, and build confidence. Role play during dress up time with other children encourages taking turns, cooperation, and socialization. When children's imaginations run wild, it helps them to become better problem solvers as adults. Dress up engages preschool children's brain and memory. Student's engaged in role play see the world through another's eyes, which teaches empathy. Children process their fears through play, which helps them make sense of the world, and overcome their feeling of helplessness. For my students to engage in dress up play our class needs a few dress up items along with a organized place to store them.
