As students grow older, so does their curiosity. Science comes to life, when students have the ability to be hands on with their learning. In second grade, one of our standards is to determine if plants need sunlight and water to grow. By providing gardening materials, each individual student will be active in this learning process. This skill of learning how to plant, will not only help them in school, but is a life skill that will stick with them through the ages! By donating to this project, you will help a brand new school make educational dreams come true! This second grade class is the first second grade class ever to start a grade level tradition at the school. With these tools, students for years will get to see the fruits of their labor, literally! We are hoping to start a second grade garden that students can see from year to year! This will not only help them see that, yes plants need sunlight and water to grow, but they will see how a certain habitat effects their growth, what pollination looks like, and how important weather can be for their plant's survival! We hope to grow in more ways than one this year!
