Picnic tables and umbrellas, in our school colors, will allow at-risk students to use our desolate courtyard where they can destress outside of the classroom walls and get out of their shells while developing their character by playing character building games with their classmates.
They will use these specially designed games to learn to empathize, effectively communicate, combat negative thinking, manage their anger and become productive, community-minded individuals.
Turning this previously unused courtyard into a chill space will allow students to go outside to play and learn at the same time. It will interrupt the boring suffocation of the classroom.
