These books will enhance my student's confidence in their reading and comprehension abilities. Romeo and Juliet is the most complicated text my students will read all year, and many of them give up before we even get started. Making them miss the important life lessons the play teaches.
I want my students to realize how similar Romeo and Juliet are to their modern lives. Giving them the opportunity to read Shakespear in a way that they will understand will set them up for success right from the start.
I would like enough copies so that students can each have a copy to read at home. The No Fear will allow them to read the play independently, and then have class time for discussion of the many important topics the play brings up.
My goal is to truly have my students connect with the characters, story, and themes of the play and to make an impact on their lives.
