One of the most effective ways to improve the tone quality of a student level instrument, is to incorporate a high quality mouthpiece. The goal of this project is to improve the tone quality of our tuba, trombone, and bari sax sections, by providing our students with high quality mouthpieces, thus improving the overall sound of our bands. The Helleberg Tuba mouthpiece is a great fit for middle school students and is renowned for its deep, rich and organ-like tone. With all of our tuba players using one, our three bands will have the foundational sound they need to achieve their potential. The Bach 6 1/2 AL Trombone mouthpiece can make a good instrument play better. They produce excellent intonation; ease of response in the high and low register; rich, uniform timbre throughout the range; and resistance calculated to increase the player's endurance. With matching 6 1/2 AL mouthpieces, the trombone section will being to reach their potential. The Rico Metalite baritone saxophone mouthpiece is Metalite mouthpieces were designed by Arnold Brillhart and offer the brilliant sound qualities of metal using a durable composite material. Metalite mouthpieces are free blowing. This mouthpiece will help provide the jazz band with a powerful, centererd foundation. Finally, the Vic Firth SD1 General drum sticks are a multi-use stick that will build our percussionists' strength while also providing clear percussion sounds for all three bands.
