When my students leave the elementary school and go to the middle school, they will be given lockers with built-in combination locks so it is important for students to get acclimated to using a combination lock. As a 6th grade teacher, I try my best to prepare them for middle school in all aspects, not just academics.
We will be teaching students the responsibility that comes with proper locker usage, and how that will translate into their middle school experience.Furthermore, it is essential that students feel comfortable bringing their necessary belongings to school that will aid in their learning experience. Materials such as headphones, cellphones, laptops, and even money on occasion need to be stored safely in a locked locker.
