Since my students are from various economic situations, the school decided to buy the recommended materials. Being a first year teacher, I didn't fully understand what students really needed to be fully successful. I believe the materials that I am requesting, such as pencils, dry erase markers, and simple copy paper will go a long way for my students.
Students need their own materials to feel responsible and included in the lesson. These supplies will help my students feel prepared each day because it will be tucked in their desk, waiting to be used for learning. I consider these materials, the basic needs for a successful student.
