These students will be taking our first ever Applied Science class. We were fortunate to have an old gas golf cart on campus and I have created a lot of excitement about transforming it into an electric vehicle and the students would love it.
This project will help my students build many key skills. These include project planning, problem solving, cooperation with peers, and many more. The students will work on the project once a week where groups will have varying tasks. Each group will have to work on a pivotal part of the project but other groups can provide input if needed. They will also feel ownership every time they see the golf cart they created driving around campus. Imagine how happy they will be knowing something they created is being put to use year after year.
