I teach elementary special education and my students can not use computer mice due to a variety of reasons. Because they have this limitation, I am requesting iPads so that they can access computer based curriculums (i.e. Unique Learning Curriculum, TeachTown, Lexia, iReady, etc.) independently! We have one iPad at school and you can see how proud my students are when they are able to complete a program independently. I am also asking for good protective cases just in case the iPad gets dropped to help prevent the iPads from breaking!
