This library of books will give my 2nd grade students the opportunity to engage in read alouds that will help to build social and emotional skills that are critical to being a good student, citizen, friend and family member.
Each story will help me to infuse social and emotional learning into academic content. The books will provide the children with relevant examples of how to use social skills and about what to do during peer interaction. For example, students may be able to relate to the emotions of the characters. The stories I have chosen can also encourage students to pay attention to their own actions and behavior.
