Please help support our students' learning by helping provide them with food. According to Foodbank - "The overwhelming majority of teachers (82%) report that their workload increases when they have hungry students in the classroom. This is because students that are hungry are more likely to find it difficult to concentrate (73%), can be lethargic (66%), have learning difficulties (54%) and exhibit behavioural problems (52%)." 95% of students at our school live in poverty. Funding this project would allow for us to assist in feeding hungry students during the school day as well as sending them home with food at night and over the weekends.
By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Students at our school face enough obstacles in their community - violence, trauma, frequent change of housing, etc. This is one small step we can take to improve their ability to learn. Helping them score higher on tests and getting better grades in class better prepares them for a future where they can make money to provide for themselves and hopefully never go hungry again. Thank you for your assistance in supporting the health, well-being, and focus of our students!
