The P.M.S. lLibrary has over 12,000 books and magazines for students and community members to use. The space is used by the entire school population for academic and extracurricular activities. It is also used by many district departments for professional development meetings. The furniture is rigid and needs to be more comfortable and inviting for the vast number of stakeholders.
Before school, at lunch, and after school students spend time in the library reading, playing chess, working on assignments and just relaxing alone or with friends. Classes visit on a regular basis to get library books and do research for history, English, science, etc.
Currently, 6 rectangular tables with 6 chairs each and 5 large computer carrels take up the space. They are all made of heavy wood and not very comfortable for reading and relaxing in the library. Comfortable seating will encourage students and community members to use the library even more.
