The tables we are requesting are the perfect antidote to our small group time woes. Currently, we sit with ten students in close proximity to each other and there is limited tabletop space to freely explore and utilize hands-on materials. The additional workspace will facilitate the use of manipulatives to solve problems, sort, and group, see spatial relationships, use science tools to foster inquisitiveness, and represent ideas through various art media. Hence, it will improve and increase student attention and focus, resulting in an increase in academic achievement. Providing a learning environment that promotes teacher/child interactions, child engagement, and guided practice, the extra space will increase the students' potential for growth and independence.
