Our students are super kids who dream big and attend school of nearly 1000 students in an urban setting. Our school population is one where 98% of the families qualify for free or reduced school lunch. Our school has a special emphasis on fitness as a key to supporting learning. Even though we have been faced with a 17% budget cuts, we have a Morning Program that emphasizes physical activity for students in grades 4 and 5. There is daily lunch time recess in all kinds of weather. The children have an opportunity be part of lunch clubs many of which have movement and fitness as the theme.
The children speak many languages at home but are fluent in the language of play at school.
