My classroom is an extension of our STEM lab and geared to meet the STEM needs of my students. It is used for many different functions that all work to enhance STEM learning for various components of our STEM Program.
My classroom supports our STEM program as they complete Engineering Design Challenges. The students watch videos to learn about their challenges and the engineering concepts behind them. The projector will be used to project the videos for the students as they are inspired to begin planning and creating their models. The projector allows me to be a facilitator of their learning as they move through the Engineering Design Process using interactive science notebooks. Students will be able to share their plans, notebook documentation, and reflections with the group using the projector during each session.
My classroom also supports small group math instruction. The projector will enhance student conversations by projecting possible strategies and solutions needed to solve math concepts. Manipulatives, notes, videos and pictures will be able to be projected onto the whiteboard to deepen the understanding surrounding math strategies for all learners.
The projector will be used for instruction and parent/student workshops surrounding STEM instructional practices, NGSS implementation, technology support, and coding awareness throughout the school year.
