My students are expected to utilize chrome books daily to enrich their learning. Many of the programs require sound and headphones are a must.
Utilizing various computer programs to differentiate teaching also allows some students to have more information given to them orally, and different stories read out loud at the same time. Children who are struggling readers can also have things read and repeated to them without their peers knowing. Again, headphones are a must.
We often use programs like Discovery Education, Flocabulary, IXL, and I-Ready that all require headphones.
Having headphones hanging at each student's desk will also help alleviate numerous classroom disruption problems.
