Instead of snacks, I hope to fill a vending machine with books. My goal is to encourage both students and parents to focus more on reading. The vending machine will be stocked with "fresh" books and will be open to all students from Kindergarten to fifth grade.
This vending machine will promote literacy by dispensing literary "snacks" to kids as a reward for displaying good character. The students can earn free books by completing an assignment, helping the teacher, being kind to others, or making other positive choices. Unlike the library, however, the students will get to keep the books they choose!
