I work with two groups of Kindergarten students: 25 in the morning and 25 in the afternoon. My students need a rug to meet during circle time. The whole group gets together for reading a book, learning educational games, and sometimes to sing a song. We meet multiple times during the day for learning and instruction, and there is not a comfortable place or a big enough rug for the whole class to sit on.
The morning and afternoon meetings are where a great part of the learning, interaction, and thinking take place. However, if the students do not have a comfortable place where they can meet, this meaningful experience is limited. Also, the only way that the students are going to get interested in reading and practice what they are learning in Spanish is by reading. My students need books in Spanish so they can read by themselves and in small groups.
