This is year 2 of our Drone project. We have doubled our student participation and are now moving to another application of drone use. The 1st application focused on emergency response and active shooter surveillance. Phase 2 has our students branching out into agriculture as our students will now learn to map out vineyards for example and apply software that will analyze drought conditions and plant health. We plan to start with 2 specific analytical tools and then continue to add tools every 2 years.
The acquisition of the Phantom 4 Advanced will be a major upgrade to our fleet with an advanced and sophisticated camera that will allow us to apply the agriculture software. Last years students will now be able to translate their flying skills in a much more meaningful way by getting more complex feedback that is cutting edge and is now just emerging in the agricultural field. In addition our new crew of students will learn on our older fleet with the goal of moving them up to fly the Phantom 4 at the end of the year so we can have a seamless transition for them into phase 2
