Kids love to cook and a well stocked cookbook library is a way to get my students excited about learning a new life skill. Students use math, science and fine motor skills while cooking. Cooking also builds self esteem and gets kids into the spirit of creating. Cooking is a neglected part of STEAM education and we want to make it a focus in the library. The ability to have more titles in our cookbook collection and available for students means more kids can get involved with cooking. Having diverse titles for students to choose from at varying reading levels in the only way to engage as many students as possible. More books = more chefs!
