This special area rug will be used for everyday gathering when my English Language Learners come to their ESL classroom. The image of children from all over the world holding hands represents the world unity as we come from the different continents to gather and learn in this one classroom.
In addition, this floor carpet will provide flexible and extra learning space for my students. They will have optional seating choice other than traditional classroom chairs during their independent practice and reading. As I have seen in my colleague's classrooms, giving students choice of seating is one way to let them learn how to take charge of their own learning. It always effects them in a positive way.
