On a daily basis, students use calculators in their math class. In order to reach upper level concepts, a calculator helps eliminate silly mistakes. I want my students to focus on learning new things and using the right vocabulary. A class set of the Texas Instruments TI-30X IIS - scientific calculators will help build confidence in my students, as well has help struggling students with their basic math operations. We will use the calculators on a daily basis, from basic problem solving, to tests, quizzes, and projects. Right now I do not have enough calculators for every student to have one, and some families cannot afford to buy one.
