By providing funding for an iPad, my students will have an opportunity to learn how to use technology and applicable applications to increase knowledge for academics and functional language and articulation within the classroom.
Each of my students have individual needs that can be met through group therapy, but the challenge is not providing therapy, it is using relevant resources to keep students focused and motivated to complete their work. With the help of an iPad, students will be motivated, focused, engaged, and active in their learning as well as help me, the speech and language pathologist, keep track of relevant data and progress for each of my students. This resource will allow me to save time in preparing for therapy and data collection, so that I can be in the classrooms more helping and supporting both teachers and students instead of prepping paper materials. The benefits will be noticed by parents, teachers, and peers when students are able to share their thoughts and ideas with one another.
