Students practicing computation is a good thing, but not always the most important thing. The key is to help students determine when using mental/longhand computation is appropriate, and when using a calculator is more appropriate. Teaching students how to select the right tool helps them become an effective problem solver.
The products I have selected will help personalize learning for a diverse classroom of learning needs. Crayons and glue sticks will help my students build and personalize their interactive notebooks. Interactive notebooks engage my students and help make math more enjoyable. I hope for the interactive notebooks to become a resource my students can use for years to come.
