My students need an iPad to be able to connect with the world in new ways and build early literacy, math and technological skills.
With the addition of iPads into our classroom, we will be one of the only classrooms in the school that has access to such technology. My students will be able to access apps that reinforce skills and enable higher level learning. An iPad helps students who are kinesthetic and visual learners open up the doors of education and individualize their learning experiences. The iPad will become a tool that will help create more authentic learning experiences in the classroom as well as build twenty first century skills that our children need in order to be successful in a quickly evolving technical world. My students will be able to work in centers with the iPads, writing, reading, learning phonemic awareness skills, working with math manipulatives and more. They will receive adaptive technology while waiting in the progress monitoring or I.E.P. process. They will be able to create both independent and collaborative projects in order to show true understanding of concepts.
