My classroom is lacking sensory and academic supplies to support students of all abilities. I would be so appreciative of any purchases to reach my goal of a fully supported classroom. I have already added many resources of my own. Each year, I try to add more based on my new students and their specific learning and social needs.
Adding sensory and academic resources will make my classroom more efficient to ALL students. Some of the students in my class have a specific time incorporated into their day for sensory. The sensory sox, motion stools, and many other items on the list will help the students feel secure and get the sensory time they need to proceed to their next task. Also, some of my students are autistic. I have found that certain students not only enjoy puzzles such as the sensory puzzle blocks, but it helps with their processing and fine motor skills. Lastly, I added whisper phones and other sight word games to my list. Research shows that when the brain can make multiple connections (such as saying, hearing, and writing) students are more likely to learn. My goal is to make sure all students are receiving a equitable education. I work very hard to meet the needs of all students and I appreciate everyone who helps me do this!
