I want to provide flexible seating options in my classroom such as stability balls, swivel chairs and stools. Flexible seating encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused and productive and allows movement which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. In turn, this helps keep young minds more alert and focused. Students feel empowered by having some autonomy over their environment. Flexible seating allows student choice to choose their seat, change their location and positions as needed. This will create a more positive learning environment by transforming our classroom into a home away from home.
