My students need the digital and IT skills necessary to thrive in the twenty-first century. Linux is free, as in freedom. There are literally thousands of high quality educational games, tools, and resources available for absolutely free. The only catch is you have to have hardware that is powerful enough to run the software. The Raspberry pi 3 b+ is an affordable computer designed for use in the educational environment. If this project is funded, we will expand the free software that we can use to support learning in the classroom with programs like sonic-pi, Gimp, libre office, Gcompris, TuxMath, and Scratch. On top of the huge library of Open-Source educational programs, our students will also have access to many high quality online resources. These include prodigy math game, Starfall, ABCya, PBS KIDS, Khon Academy, Brain POP, tumble books, and that’s just to name a few!
