My students need flexible and comfortable seating options in order to be fully engaged. As an adult, I am able to concentrate better when I feel comfortable and relaxed. My students are no different.
First graders are full of energy, and flexible seating will allow them to release this energy in a positive way. These seating options will allow students to be comfortable and active by bouncing on an exercise ball, sitting on a comfy floor seat, or writing on a portable lap desk. Flexible seating will allow me to focus more on teaching the lesson at hand and less on negative behaviors that arise when students do not have a positive way to release their energy.
